About

A private wildlife park and resort on Bulawayo Road, Gweru, with a campsite alongside rooms, glamping units and tents by the river. It is rated 4.3 from over 900 Google reviews and works as an overnight stop, a longer stay or a day trip.

Campers speak well of it. One party who camped a night on the way to Mana Pools liked the lawns, the campsites and the small restaurant, and plans to stop again. A cyclist travelling through Africa rated everything from the campsite and restrooms to the guides and food highly, and found it warm and genuine. Day visitors enjoy the riverside seating, and one named the elephant interaction as the highlight.

There are cautions. A couple who stayed in July found the waterside accommodation very cold and the roads into the park poor, so allow extra time to get there. Another guest wanted more variety on the menu and was disappointed that a game drive turned up no lion, elephant, rhino or hyena. On the other hand, a vegetarian guest found the chef happy to cook a separate dish.

“We camped one night on our way to Mana pools. Will definitely stop here again. Nice little restaurant, beautiful lawns and campsites. I didn’t see the rooms so couldn’t rate them.”
