This is the go-to spot for serious trout fishermen. The camp is right on the water’s edge in a secluded valley, away from the main park roads. Facilities are simple and rustic. There is no electricity at the campsites, so you’ll rely on gas and wood-fired boilers. It is often very misty and cold. Nearby: Trout fishing, pine forest walks.

“The cottages are very sad, only 2 that were inhabitable. Water poured out the taps, no gas back up in River View cottage. Burnt down & cottages in a state of collapse, grounds untidy & not maintained. We did however have hot water & zesa & fridge & kettle worked and clean linen.…”
