A hike through the granite hills around the Great Zimbabwe ruins. The best-known path leads up to the “Hill Complex,” the oldest part of the monument. The climb uses stone stairways built by the ancient Shona civilization. From the top you can see the Great Enclosure and the valley below, which shows why this site was chosen as a royal capital.
