About

A tented safari camp on the shore of Lake Kariba in Matusadona National Park, rated 4.8 from 64 Google reviews. It suits couples and small groups after a relaxed, well-looked-after stay with game drives, bush walks and fishing.

Reviewers keep coming back to the staff, whom they describe as friendly, professional and attentive, and to the food, which several call five-star and inventive. One couple ate dinner under the stars, and the catfish the husband caught that day was served up as a surprise canapé. Guests enjoyed game drives and a bush walk with knowledgeable guides, and one appreciated tea and biscuits with the early wake-up call.

The camp is described as rustic but very comfortable, with spacious tents, basins facing the lake and the sunrise, and an outdoor bath one guest loved. Wildlife wanders through camp and drinks at the water's edge within sight of the pool, which has enough shade to escape what one visitor called the blistering heat. Reviewers also rate the birdlife, and one calls the safaris and fishing hard to beat.

“We had the most wonderful relaxed time at this beautiful, rustic but very comfortable camp, where the wildlife roam through casually. The pool area was lovely with enough shade from the blistering African heat and great views of the wildlife drinking at the edge of Lake Kariba.…”
