About
Ngweshla Camp is a fenced campsite beside the Ngweshla pans in Hwange National Park. It is booked by one party at a time, so it suits self-sufficient groups who want to camp in the middle of game country.
Rated 4.5 from 26 Google reviews, it is valued for the wildlife around it. Campers describe lions roaring at night, elephants with calves passing close, and hyena and leopard nearby, and one party picnicked in their car next to the local pride. The open ground around the pans makes for good game drives. Facilities are simple but looked after: toilets, water, hot and cold water in the ablutions, covered sitting areas and a caretaker who keeps things clean. One recent visitor found fresh paint and a new fence.
Bring everything, since there are no shops. It is often fully booked, so plan well ahead; one visitor rates the dry season from May to November as best. The fence is described as rickety, and one party had a young elephant break through it at night, damaging a car window, guy ropes and a washing line.
