About

Haka Game Park is a game park at Cleveland Dam in Masasa, on the Mutare road side of Harare, rated 4.1 from 476 Google reviews. It suits families after an easy day outdoors, solo visitors wanting a quiet afternoon, and anyone who wants to see wildlife without a long drive.

Regulars love it. Visitors describe driving around to see zebra, wildebeest and giraffe, stopping at an empty boma for a picnic, and staying on for a braai at one of the many braai stations. Canoeing is on offer, and one family found it great fun. Others cycle or walk the park, and one visitor on a solo birthday picnic watched the sunset reflected on still water. Camping is available too. Visitors who went on weekdays found it quiet, and one parent calls it safe and uncrowded.

Noise is the complaint that stands out. One reviewer found speedboats and picnickers' music spoiling the calm, and another had an unfriendly reception from the attendant at the canoes on a Monday morning. Go midweek if peace is what you are after.

“Ask me about my favorite place to hang out in Harare. I’ll scream HAKA!!!!… I have made too many memories here with my kids. It’s such a wonderful place right here in the city where you can experience wildlife at a very reasonable price. It’s great for solo outings to just go,…”

“I had a very peaceful experience. I went for a solo picnic date for my birthday and the serene atmosphere is just what i needed! Got to watch the beautiful sunset and its reflection on the still waters. It was a Thursday so not too many people.”

“Great place for a weekend picnic. We enjoyed driving around the park and seeing zebras, wildebeest, and a giraffe. Stopped in one of the empty bomas for a picnic. Haka is a nice refuge from the city and I wish we came here earlier. Entry was $10 for adults, $5 for kids. Camping…”
