About

Victoria Falls National Park covers the Zimbabwean side of the Falls, with a walking trail along the edge of the gorge through the rainforest. It is the main reason most people come to Victoria Falls. It is rated 4.7 from more than 3,000 Google reviews.

Visitors talk first about the power of the water. You hear it before you see it, then the spray reaches you, then the view opens up. One visitor says photographs don't do it justice. A January visitor enjoyed the cooling showers from the spray and the rainbows over the gorge. Some people combine the walk with a helicopter flip to see the Falls from every angle.

The path is well laid out and signposted, with information boards and exit signs back to the entrance. Reviewers say the walk takes one to three hours, depending on how far you go. There is a café, gift shop, art shop and toilets at the entrance, but no toilets along the trail.

There are a few practical points. It can be very misty, so protect your phone and camera. One visitor notes there is no day pass, so each entry needs its own ticket if you want to see the Falls at different times of day. The Falls change a lot with the season and the rains.

“As you would hope, an absolutely spectacular experience. These huge falls couldn't help but impress. Just the sound of them as you're approaching is quite something, then you're met with the spray, and then the falls. The path is well laid out and well signposted for viewing.…”
