About
African Bushwalker Tours is a Gweru-based tour operator whose reviews mostly come from guided and self-drive trips in Namibia, with some tours through Botswana and Zimbabwe too. It suits overseas travellers who want a multi-week trip arranged in full, including camping.
All five of its Google reviews give five stars. One American couple had a two-week Namibia trip put together with hotels, a car and tours. They say questions were answered quickly despite the time difference, and extra days were added without fuss when they asked. Another traveller asked for a guide who understood American English and spent two weeks camping with him. At Etosha he worked hard to find the cheetah, hyena and leopard she had not yet seen, and she saw them.
Campers get a good deal of attention. One party mixed lodges with campsites using a rooftop-tent camper and found the sites clean and well equipped. A pair of Italian travellers hired a 4x4 with rooftop tents, a fridge, cooking kit, chairs and a table. They found it in excellent condition and the tents easy to put up.
A group who toured Botswana and Zimbabwe in December rated the guide, food and lodgings highly. They also say the owner was always available to help.
