About

Bushmen Travel is a Bulawayo tour operator running day trips into Matobo National Park, with rhino tracking on foot as the centrepiece. It suits travellers passing through Bulawayo who have a day to spare and want a guide who knows the park well.

All 13 of its Google reviews give five stars, and every one of these reviews talks about the guide. Visitors describe him as knowledgeable about the bush, happy to answer questions and a good storyteller. One mentions his ranger background, and another says he brings history to life. Reviewers report getting close to rhino on foot: one saw six and a couple on the "Best of Matobo" tour counted seven. That couple also saw zebra, wildebeest, baboons and plenty of birds.

The tours are more than wildlife. Visitors mention San rock art, Cecil Rhodes's grave at World's View and the views across the hills. One couple were impressed by a lunch cooked inside the park. A solo traveller who came in low season still got a full day out, and ended it with a cold drink.

No complaints appear in the reviews.
