About
Mbizi Game Park is a small private reserve roughly 22km from central Harare and about ten minutes from the airport, which makes it the easiest bush night to reach in the country. Game drives, bush walks, canoeing, horse riding and fishing are all run on site, along with riverside picnics and corporate team-building. There is a lodge in a converted farmhouse and self-catering two-bedroom bush cottages.
Recent visitors paint a mixed picture. One found it good value and busy enough that arriving early matters if you want a good picnic spot, and enjoyed the zipline, small as it is. Others like the natural, rustic setting and see real potential.
The animals are the main concern. One business visitor was told at the gate that there were no more animals because of poaching and theft, and found only canoe and speedboat rides on offer, in boats they were unimpressed with. Another wanted more game. The road to the entrance is in bad shape, and one reviewer found the accommodation dated. If game viewing is the reason for your trip, phone ahead to ask what is running.
