About

Miombo Park is a private wildlife reserve at Christon Bank, about 20km north of Harare up the Mazowe road, set in unspoilt miombo woodland looking out over the Mazowe Valley. The birding is the main draw, along with walking under the canopy, which stays noticeably cooler than the open country around it.

Miombo Mountain Lodge sits on the reserve, and the reserve works with the Mazowe Botanical Reserve and the MyTrees Trust on conservation and replanting. Google reviewers mostly talk about the views and the food. Several praise the service and the setting, and one suggests it for corporate events close to the city. The kitchen gets good marks: one diner rates the lamb burger highly, and another found a three-course meal of fish and steak excellent, from a short menu.

Opinions split on whether it lives up to its photos. One visitor found the restaurant small, felt there was little to do and would not go back, and another was let down by the mocktails. Go for the woodland and a good meal rather than a packed day. It has 4.5 from 24 Google reviews.
