About

Darwendale Recreational Park is a national parks site on Manyame Dam near Norton, rated 4.0 from 62 Google reviews. Families use it for a quiet day out or a weekend in the chalets.

Visitors like the calm and the water views. One family singles out a private picnic area overlooking the dam and found the park good for children, and another describes the chalets as lovely and the setting very quiet. Reviewers also mention clean grounds, good roads, fresh air and meals on site. One visitor mentions a man-made beach that was still being built.

The ground is rocky, so one reviewer's advice is to wear trainers and bring your own camping chairs. Check with the park before counting on the beach being finished.
