About

Nyati Eco Game Park is a private wildlife park at Headlands, roughly midway between Harare and Mutare, on land crossed by several rivers and streams. Zebra, giraffe and lion are among the game. The park runs guided drives, lion and nature walks, birdwatching, fishing, horse riding and tours of the rock paintings on the property, and has a nine-hole safari golf course. Accommodation runs from camping to thatched rondavel chalets.

Reviewers agree the animals and the people handling them are the highlight. Several praise knowledgeable, passionate guides and handlers, and one mentions white lions and tigers. One overnight guest enjoyed hearing lions roar through the night and had a hearty breakfast.

The hospitality side draws sharp criticism from several visitors. It holds a 3.3 rating from about 116 Google reviews. Several visitors say the game drive is charged whether or not you take it. One says overnight guests were also billed a park entry fee. Reviewers describe slow restaurant service, dated or dusty chalets, and a long wait to check in. Some found staff and management dismissive when they raised problems.

Lion walks run only at set times, so check before you arrive. One visitor found the road signs have no arrows, and says Google Maps can mislead near the turn-off.
